Winter Trips

It's been a while, but I'll update with my winter trip schedule.

Dec 18-Jan 10 - Philadelphia
Jan - Whistler?
Feb - Miami, Whistler
March - Alabama
June 29

Summer Trips

It's a busy summer of travel for me. Below is my travel schedule for the summer. Some of the trips have already taken place (see the pictures on the left).

  • Memorial Day Weekend - Durham, NC for a wedding
  • June 2-5 - Philadelphia to see the family and the guys
  • June 5-8 - Boston on business
  • June 16-18 - Atlanta to see Mark (high school friend) and Thomas, Andy, Mike, and Q (Duke friends)
  • June 26-28 - Sweden on business
  • July 3-9 - Philadelphia and Stone Harbor, NJ to see family, the guys, and the beach (and Springer's Ice Cream)
  • August 9-13 - Las Vegas (at the Luxor) with Seattle friends
  • September 21-30 - London, UK & probably somewhere else in Europe with Jeff, Tom, and Portnoy

Other trips in the pipeline, but have no dates yet:

  • Houston (estimated for early September)
  • Miami (fall or spring)
  • Alabama (estimated for late October)

Then there will be the usual Thanksgiving and Christmas in Philadelphia. Let me know if you'll be in one of the cities on the list when I'm there, and we'll try to meet up.

And yes, I'm going to be bankrupt from all of this, but at least I've earned preferred status on at least 1 airline and will have a ton of fun doing this.

Updated 7/13: Cut San Diego due to high costs and work schedule.  I added the dates for London and Las Vegas, which are now booked.

Long time overdue

This post is a long time overdue.  I'll catch up on a few items.  I also plan on regular updates to that I have something to look back on as I get to be an old man...

20/20 Program Completion
I completed the 20/20 program at my target weight of 155 lbs.  That was a 41 lbs loss; it is my highschool weight.  Other stats include:

  • Body Fat: 27.7% to 13.5%
  • Waist: 37.5 inches to 31 inches
  • BMI: 30.7 to 24.3
  • Cholesterol: from very high to semi-high (but reasonable)
  • Triglycerides: from very very high to normal
  • Blood pressure: from moderately high to normal/good
  • Strength: overall increase

In conclusion, it was a great thing for me.  Microsoft paid the bill in the end because I didn't get fat again.  Also, 3 months after completing the program I'm still losing fat/gaining muscle.  Now I'm trying to "get huge" but that'll take time.

Trips

Since my last camera-phone update in February, I've only been to Whistler (twice).  I haven't been doing my usual monthly flights because of botched up plans and money.  Below are some pictures from various Whistler trips.

On Top of Blackcomb...we could have been in t-shirts! (left to right: me, Rob, Monica, Jarred)

Upcoming trips

  • Memorial Day Weekend - Durham, NC (Duke)
  • June - Atlanta?
  • July 4th- Philadelphia & hopefully Stone Harbor, NJ
  • July 11-15th - San Diego for Duke Robotics
  • September - Houston, but TBD

Party at the Museum of Flight

Windows Client party at the Museum of Flight. Very cool venue!
February 02

Redhook brewery tour

This is the bottling plant of the Redhook brewery in Woodinville, WA, which we left work early to go see. Good stuff.
January 14

The Mississippi River

Overlooking the Mississippi River from the Helena levee.
January 13

Haning at Ground Zero blues bar

Down in Clarksville, MS, hanging at a blues bar with Ravina and Sarah.
January 11

It's all over

Taking down the displays and moving out of the convention center.

Weird booths

Hired models are everywhere, but Panasonic takes the cake. They hired models to tan and play around on a fake beach so you can film them with the new Panasonic camcorders...awkward for both the models and us.

Gambling dowtown

Down in old Las Vegas seeing the light show. Taking a nice break from the strip and the CES crowds.
